JSON Formatter

Format, validate and minify JSON locally. Choose two or four spaces while preserving number spelling and key order.

Processed on your device

Inputs are cleared when you switch tools. Downloaded files and copied results stay where you save them.

About JSON Formatter

Make API responses and configuration files easier to inspect, or remove unnecessary whitespace before copying JSON into another tool.

How to use it

  1. Paste JSON into the input, or load the sample.
  2. Choose Format & validate or Minify & validate. For formatting, select two or four spaces.
  3. Run the tool, review any validation error, then copy or download the JSON result.

Good to know

  • The formatter preserves original number spelling, key order and duplicate keys. It does not validate a JSON Schema.
  • Comments and trailing commas are not valid JSON. A syntactically valid document can still contain incorrect data.

Your tool input is processed in this browser and is not uploaded by the application. JavaScript is required to run the tool.

YOUR DATA

Local by design.

These tools process text and images in your browser. The application does not send your tool inputs or selected files to a server, and no analytics have been added.

The website host receives ordinary web-request information when you load the site.

Favorite tool IDs and your desktop sidebar preference are saved in local storage on this browser. Input and output are held in memory and cleared when you switch tools or reload. Your clipboard and downloaded files are outside the site and are not cleared by it.

Use a current browser with JavaScript enabled. The site is not packaged for offline installation.
