HTML Entities

Escape HTML markup or decode common named and numeric entities into plain text locally. Input is never rendered as HTML.

Processed on your device

Inputs are cleared when you switch tools. Downloaded files and copied results stay where you save them.

About HTML Entities

Escape markup characters for inspection or decode entity-encoded text without executing or rendering the input.

How to use it

  1. Choose Encode entities or Decode entities.
  2. Paste markup or entity-encoded text into the input.
  3. Run the tool, review the plain-text result, then copy or download it.

Good to know

  • Encoding covers the five common markup characters. Decoding supports numeric entities and a selection of common named entities, not the complete HTML5 entity list.
  • Unknown named entities remain unchanged. Decoding makes one pass and is not an HTML sanitizer; check how another application will use the result.

Your tool input is processed in this browser and is not uploaded by the application. JavaScript is required to run the tool.

YOUR DATA

Local by design.

These tools process text and images in your browser. The application does not send your tool inputs or selected files to a server, and no analytics have been added.

The website host receives ordinary web-request information when you load the site.

Favorite tool IDs and your desktop sidebar preference are saved in local storage on this browser. Input and output are held in memory and cleared when you switch tools or reload. Your clipboard and downloaded files are outside the site and are not cleared by it.

Use a current browser with JavaScript enabled. The site is not packaged for offline installation.
